project 365 - days 18. 19 & 20

Day 20

It's a little dark, but this is geelongs sunken park, Johnstone Park. Once upon a time it was underwater, and then dammed, and then drained, a bandstand was added, and the park was shortened thanks to the city expanding and a TAFE going up, on one side of it is the Geelong Library and the Art Gallery as well as a War Memorial. I love the park, it always amazes me to see parks in the middle of cities, even more so when 300 or so years ago they were underwater!

Day 19

The sign outside the Geelong Library under it is says
all that mankind has done, thought, gained or been is lying in magic preservation in the pages of books

Day 18

I nearly trod on this fellow as i left the house, its a Cicada, and for the longest time i thought the brown shells were the actual creature, that somehow they made the noise or whatever, but clearly that wasn't the case, some summers there are more of these then others, and for the longest time, cicada's made me anxious. it's a long story but i don't feel that way anymore, and this is probably the first time i've seen one that hasn't been in a picture on the internet (well it is now. but you get it)

Project 365 - days 15. 16 & 17

DAY 17

i brought these cactuses (?) back in 2006 and for a while i kept them in my room, and then i moved them outside, i have had them for three years now, give or take a month, and while they need trimming, it's a reminder to me, that even "dead" things don't always leave you, that sometimes things can stay the same and just grow with you.

DAY 16

Me and Cordi/Horny after seeing New Moon, thursday morning, i was so tired and i hated new moon, but without twilight i wouldn't have some of the best friends that i have, i wouldn't know the people that i know, i wouldn't have gone to sydney, i wouldn't do half the stuff that i do. i wouldn't have done New Idea and i doubt Cordi would have either, without the aid of GFTG and Twilight.

Day 15

me and beave, without him i wouldn't know the people that i know, i wouldn't have done some things like sydney, and the commercial and more importantly i wouldn't be wearing a mask in public. i never see him in a suit, but i did, and i wound up wearing his jacket at the end of the night, he is a super awesome dude, and he deserves more than what he has got.

Project 365 - Day 14

Malice in Wonderland. I have always been one for slightly off things, and twists on innocent things. I think this, and bleeding edge goths, captures that perfectly.

Day 3 - Project 365

These are my dad's birds, they are really weird, like for instance they get scared of anything. You can't wear hats near them, because they panic, you have to whistle at them or they get all weird. They are also supposed to be breed, but they just keep throwing the eggs on the floor.

Project 365 - Day 2

Sometimes I like to match my shoes to my socks, and sometimes I like to wear odd converse, and sometimes odd socks. And on days like today? Both odd converse and odd socks...that match!

What not to wear

Last Friday, I went to get my mouth x-rayd and on the way through Westfield Bay City, I saw the stage and sign for Trinny and Susannah. I knew they were doing the dress the nation but last time they were out here, it was only Westfields in Melbourne that they went to. That could have been because Bay City wasn't owned by Westfield back then, or they weren't big enough or they didn't think it was needed. Sadly my appointment took longer then it should have so we missed half of it and then my sister had insisted we have lunch with her so I missed the end of it, but I totally went and stood in line for photos and autrographs. I missed out getting Susannah's because she walked away from me as i got to the front. And then after when she was over under the esclator, i went around the other side to get one of her/with her and she was gone. I was totally next in line too to see Trinny and this old bitch pushed me out of the way. It was like being a crowd for a band signing, because these old bats didn't move from the front once they had both of them, except most band signings I've been to, the kids have been politer. Whatever I love my british fashion shows.

Weddings always make me cry

Last saturday I went to my friends TerryLee and Ben's wedding. It was something I had been looking forward to for quite sometime, pretty much since their engagement party in 2007, and then when they first picked a wedding date (and then changed it for reasons I won't go into because they are pretty personal.) I had also attended TerryLee's first engagement party to her previous fiance, Rob. I'm not sure why that is important because not everyone knows the story behind how Ben and TerryLee got together. The wedding was rather small and that was not surprising to me, after the fall out with what happened with Rob, they weren't left with a lot of friends from Dominos, Rob and Ben both worked there. This wedding was gorgeous, TerryLee's dress was amazing and cheap apparently! but it was so so beautiful, and the wedding was sweet, and it made me cry, but honestly I cry at all weddings. I just wish I had managed to get some better pictures but a lot of the time the photographer got in the way, stupid photographer. However this wedding was not without it's hiccups.

And Oh boy, were they big hiccups. Firstly my best friend happens to be a good friend of Ben and TerryLee's as well and he was supposed to be Ben's best man, however he is currently in England, and couldn't come back for it. Which is another post in itself. Then the original date was pushed back due to issues that I won't go into but it looked a bit bad for Ben back then as his new best man Kennedy's wife was due to have their baby that same day. However in a sad way the crisis was averted and Kenny stayed on as best man for this new wedding date. Except not. He pulled out of being in the wedding TWO days before it was due to take place. But TerryLee's friend Shane did a smashing job of taking over for him.

He made the best best man speech ever. He talked quite sweetly about Ben and TerryLee, and said that Ben wanted to remind everyone that the new Star Trek movie was coming out on the 7th of May and that if people want to know how Ben and TerryLee got together, they should watch the Bold and the Beautiful, which made those of us that knew the story laugh a lot, because Ben used to be Rob's housemate and best friend, and TerryLee was Rob's fiance, and there was a little or a lot of falling in love there.

I didn't really get to the see the cake though because they did it at the bridal table and I was on table 10 so very far away. Speaking of being on table 10, the MC when it was time to get the meals said wedding table, then table 1, then 2 and 3, then 4 and 5, then 6 and 7, then 8 and 9 and didn't mention 10. he did the exact same for the dessert as well. I also had a few to drink, and I was at a table with a lot of people I didn't know but I still had fun. However my camera had been playing up during the day when I was taking my nine million photos, so when it got to the reception and I really wanted to take some decent pictures of them dancing and what not, my camera was like LOL YOU HAVE TO PLAY WITH THE SETTINGS FIRST AND THEN I WILL DIE ON YOU. So I didn't get a single decent one at the reception. sigh. But the Photographer got some decent ones, including one of me in my dress (new) which was in a full skirt type way because I was doing the bus stop and was midspin.

I took Melissa along for my date. Notice how much taller she is then me, and that she had to take her heels off to be that much shorter but still taller, I interrupted my wedding talk to point that out, also I took along a pink and a black corset handbag that matched the top part of Melissa's dress. Ain't we such a pretty couple. People kept asking me what my tattoo meant too and apparently they even asked TerryLee, she told me about it the next Monday when I saw her. Anyways Melissa was late to the wedding, she snuck in as TerryLee was walking down the aisle. But luckily I was sitting in the second last row, so not a lot people saw her sneaky entrance into the church, which was rather small. That is pretty much the entire church in the picture behind me and Melissa.

I also very nearly brought and wore the same dress that Ben's mother was wearing. How embarrassing right? In shocking news too, well not all that shocking, Melissa's aunt was the celebrant and so Melissa's Cousin Alicia was there and so was her friend Jordan. Now I know I drunk a lot and was dancing which I don't normally do sober, but Jordan was just dressed in a very low cut at the boobs, high cut at the thighs dress, and wedges and was dancing in such a way that I could see her on a table top or in front of a pole, sooo not appropriate for a wedding, a wedding of people you don't know that well! But all in all it was a wonderful day!

Telstra sucks balls.

I will never ever understand companies and their desire to block me from fixing thing. Yeah that % off on our bills because someone in the house is a healthcare card holder is because of me, and I can answer 29895435834897 questions about the account/computer/date of birth, hell I can even answer the secret question or whatever it is, but because I blanked on the password they can’t help me. That was a waste of 45 minutes this morning trying to work out why my internet won’t work and hasn’t worked for the past seven hours but the little green lights are all lit up, how hard is it to say, “oh we (being Telstra) are a bunch of douche buckets, who have no problems disconnecting things, unless you want them disconnected then we will take forever to do it. And we can’t block numbers of people who are harrassing you because of some act that gives people the right to call whoever they want to call even if they call you 37 times in two days and are annoying you, so your internet problem is blah blah or we can’t help you.” IDK it’s just so annoying because it’s supposed to work but it’s not?

EDIT: Better yet Telstra would it have been so hard to tell me that the entire city of Geelong and the surrounding areas are internetless? Because I’m sure you needed my name, date of birth, phone number, internet password just to be able to tell me those few things. Silly people.

P.S on another note, for my next book review post aka next week or in two weeks or a month idk yet, I am doing five books again, so far I have three. I wonder what else I should do for it.

i'm trading in my skin for ink and metal

new body metal...or body PTFE in this case. i love it even though it hurt.

2 Really really important things to remember when attending a concert

1. NEVER EVER EVER wear the band you are seeing's shirt. EVER! You just end up look like a weirdo or someone new to concert going, or a huge crazy fan. I thought this was pretty an unspoken rule but I'm seeing it happen more and more lately, what the hell. We know you are there for the act, so you don't need to advertise that fact. This does not apply to festivals for obvious reasons. Then you can advertise all you want because otherwise how else will you find new band loving friends??

2. The merch girls and guys are not dumb or retarded or stupid or anything else you want to say about them. They are yelling at you because they can't hear you properly, and they just want you to be louder back. AND if you are going to ask for that black every time i die shirt on the wall, or the black and red nine inch nails shirt, don't just say the colour, 90% of the time they are all gonna be black or black or red, describe the shirt, hell describe it by the spot on the wall but DON'T JUST SAY THE COLOUR OF THE SHIRT.

SOUNDWAVE

Soundwave was yesterday. It was both fun and tiring sometimes for the same reason, and I have a lot of bad stuff to say about things, and I should probably keep my mouth shut about it but everyone else mentioned something about it as well, so even though I am going to look unprofessional complaining about it, I don't know what else to do. Honestly now.

I was pretty stoked to be working at Soundwave, and getting to listen/see bands for free. WEEEEEE free bands, bands that I would be paid to listen to. Unfortunately I was right near the main two stages, and not a lot of bands that I cared about played on those stages. I did however get a ska double feature, by hearing all of Less Than Jake and Goldfinger. One after the other, pretty sweet hey. Plus one of the LTJ dudes, I don't remember which one because I couldn't really see the stage/hear properly, said he could tell it's early in the day when even the dude down the front in the LTJ shirt has his arms folded.

While I was in the merch tent though, I saw people I wasn't expecting to see. I turned around at one point and Ben was there, and another time I saw Sanna and I guess what she was buying, even though it was totally predictable because I already knew what she was at Soundwave for. Then I saw Lee, Grianne ( I think I spelt that wrong) and some dude who took the above picture for me. Pretty sweet. And a fair few of the guys were pretty decent and nice to talk to, but some were total jackasses, like big jackasses, drunk jackasses.

When I saw Ben though, I got him to go and get me a raffle ticket for the Every Time I Die signing, since I brought my poster along for it and I was hoping to get it signed and a picture. I did ask someone else to do it and that didn't work out, which is okay because i got it in the end, yes yes yes, and they let me go and do it. And it was weird because when I got there because they hardly had anyone at their table, in fact Keith wasn't even there yet and Jordan was yelling at some randoms, telling them to stop being pussys and just ask for a picture if that was what they wanted. It was always weird because the lines for the other two tables were massive and there was hardly anyone around them.

Okay I am going to complain about the other thing later
